I’d like to introduce you to my good buddy, Laz.

Laz is the kindest, sweetest human I’ve ever known. We met during my previous visit to Seaside, Oregon in September 2024. He was kind enough to buy my book. And he read it! 😁

In February 2025, Laz invited me to spend the rest of winter in his condo at the beach. It’s truly the most beautiful home anyone could ask for and it’s been his dream home since he was a kid. He moved here in 2012 and quit his job in 2014 to take care of his mother, who lived with him until she died in 2018. He landed one job in 2019, but lost it in 2020 due to covid cutoffs. He hasn’t had any luck in finding work since.

Now, his money is depleting and he put the condo on the market at a much lower cost than it’s worth. He’s looking at other places to live, but a crappy apartment in Portland is the most likely alternative option.

I’m living with Laz for the next 6 weeks. We’re filming a movie to raise money for his condo, tribute the beautiful landmarks of northwest Oregon, and celebrate one of the greatest friendships I’ve randomly found myself in.

Please help us!

His mortgage is paid off, but the HOA fees and taxes are crazy high. Beyond that, the building has charged Laz $16,000 for a new brick wall (paid off), $23,000 for a new roof ($3,000 paid off), and an upcoming $50,000 for neglected issues dating back to the building’s beginning in 1974, which will resolve all structural issues.
